Hiya all iv'e been thinking about opening a thread just for terraining tricks and when i managed to create this kinda good looking/walkable trench i just had to atleast post about it, although it might have been done =/ *Searches Sc2mapster* Okay Reaper already "invented" it so consider this thread to be about tricks, doodad clutter/combinations etc.
window boards my good fellow, how do you make a unit able to stand on top of them and walk over them.
OH! The unit pathing. Ahh. Well, if you make the planks thin enough it shouldn't look akward.
That said, Sheo - you need the planks in the trench, in the water, so the soldiers don't have to run through the mud as much. Google any world war 1 trench picture and you'll see what I mean.
Look at the colonist supplies doodad. (I believe supplies, I know colonists) There is a fantastic doodad with wooden planks on the ground that would look great for what was suggested.
I didn't know the elevator had pathing. That is pretty interesting to know. You could possibly turn that into a proper elevator if you can somehow change the doodad height through triggers. Hmmm.
Edit: doesn't that stairway look goofy in action, though?

Hey nice. I didn't think about the other stuff but I used the sandbags before like that. I may need to show off a few things I sometimes do as well.
I advise adding some brown water to the bottom of the trenches and some planks for stuff to walk on.

you can't walk on wood I don't think. Can you?
What SuperEvil said; I want to see that!

... wat?
Depends on the path they have. Use that which is already used on some bridges, and units would walk and build over those planks.

how do you use the elevator it doesn't work for me :(
Shift place the Deadman's Port Scrap Elevator Right and rises it out of the ground. Ctrl-v, ctrl-c about 5 of 'em and stack them on top of eachother.
