Another monday means another WTE. This week we'll have a simple theme to understand, but harder to make work: "Dual Wielding". What is meant by this? Simple, there is but one restriction: in your map, you use 4 textures from tileset X, and 4 from tileset Y. It's up to you which two tilesets those are, as long as there's two of them and an equal amount of textures from each is used.
I specifically didn't. If someone wants to combine a desert with a snow planet, I'm interested to see in how he'll manage - but on the flipside, I'm also very interested to see how space station A looks as a whole when complimented with some of the textures from station B. It might be easier to pull off, but it doesn't hamper creativity and instantly creates entirely new styles of space stations.
I like your concept; it's like a winter version of Haven. It's not very clear that the lower ground is supposed to be a frozen lake, though. I'm having a hard time seeing how you could improve it. normally I'd tell you to use the ice waves, but they really only work in a really cold environment. Try a pure ice texture with only a couple of those small snow mountain doodads?
A Protoss ship arriving into a terran platform. It uses Braxis Alpha/Daelam Arch as textures. I'm thinking in placing a small Protoss settlement in the top-right of the map and still have to add the dodoads/combine the textures a little bit more.
Hmmm, the arch structure is a bit repetitive, but I like your thinking. Try using several really large (broad) arches instead of a lot of smaller ones, perhaps?
I took both recomendations. Now it's flying. I have to manage a little better the space to make a bigger platform, Maybe make a Zerg/Hybrid invasion on it and a protoss fleet joining the battle.
I'm liking it a lot more now, it really feels more like a proper ship. My one comment on the ship still would be that you can 'stretch' it out a little bit more. Right now your ship, when looked at from the top down, is shaped like an "o", while I think it would look better if shaped more ovally, like an "0".
I am in awe. This is the first doodad/terrain made Protoss ship I've seen (not counting the one in the HotS campaign :p) and it looks just so awesomely badass :D
You know... would be cool if someone made a map using these sorts of ships like that Star Wars Battlefront mode where you had two opposing ships and players could run around inside the ship, man turrets or hop in fighters/bombers and fly out and attack the enemy ship or fly a transport with a bunch of other players/npc troops in it and board the enemy ship...
Amazing job, the ship now looks more like a protoss mothership, cause at first it looked like some old submarine from the early 20th century with the cabin. It even looked like a ship made from scrap, now it looks like a real ship!
The interior is awesome, 'welcome to the protoss world', and the main cabin, perfect!
I feel like you should add more doodads to the cliff faces - primarily on the natural rock. Right now the ship is fantastic, and that protoss-y area to the bottom left looks interesting, but the cliff walls seem pretty bland.

I do terrain stuff.

Weekly Terraining Exercise #124
Hello again folks!
Good luck, and have fun!

Considering some of the space station tile sets are so similar this is almost a nonissue. Make it that it has to be different themed tilesets.

Can we do tri wielding? 4 for tileset X, 2 for Y, and 2 from Z? No? Fine. Here. Take it and leave.
This uses: -Haven Dirt -Haven Grass -Haven Grass Rocky -Haven Rock Rough -Kaldir Ice Cracked -Kaldir Snow Powdered -Kaldir Snow Icy -Kaldir Ice Light
Note: The lower terrain is a lake. The upper area is supposed to be a farm.

Here's my try... It's just a sketch

Maybe a few protoss hull plates that have been tilted and stretched?

I would keep the arch structure but add some doodads around it to make less repetitive.
Working on projects:
Nice ideas!

Nice winter there, indeed like Haven winter, also awesome ship!
Maybe it could launch Protoss Scouts... like a big Protoss aircraft carrier with a power field generator under it to warp in a ground force.
New update. I believe that I won't add anything to the ship. Now I'll start with the platform.

I'm almost done with an entry, but in the meantime - wow, Cacho56, that ship is looking amazing! Much improved from your original post.

The map is getting ready for an epic battle =D. Where should i change the decoration? I feel it too charged in some places and too empty in others...

What kind of doodads can I use on the rock cliff walls?
