Note that these are Warcraft III terrains, composed in the world editor. The constructions you see are not single piece models, but a composed scenery with thousands of models put together.
I should also clarify that these are not by any means playable, this sense of terraining refers to the artistic aspect.
No photoshopping has been administered, the screenshots appear exactly as they appear in-game.

In order of appearance:
Steampunk: My entry for the eleventh terraining contest at the hive workshop (which I won, incidentally). Looking at this in retrospective, I notice a couple of rough edges I could've tended to.
The Pit: My entry for a contest at the hive workshop called the picture. The participants were to terrain with a preset camera and compose a scenery, which frankly was a pain considering the angle.
Playmate: A surreal piece representing an abstract sense of tranquility. Cards on the table, this is my terraining ace, so to speak.
Well for starters I've heard WC3's editor is easier to use. It looks pretty good though. Reminds me of something I've seen before... I like the cannon looking thing sitting in the middle of the junkyard :) It maakes me wonder what you can do with sc2.
I'm impressed - is War3 mapping that littered with custom models these days, though? It's not per definition a bad thing, but those terrains don't even vaguely remember the style that people were using when I was into War 3 terraining. I'll refer you back to my introduction thread for that.
I like it all and all though, wondering what you can put forth in the GE.
There are probably hundreds of thousands of custom models these days. In fact, there's a map you can download called the "Ultimate Terraining Map" or something like that, which comes with almost a thousand useful custom doodads.
Those are some pretty damn awesome terrains you've got there. Just a question, though: did you download that thing which added bloom to WC3 for that last screenshot? If not, then how did you get that effect with the star?

I was there when the first rendition of such a map came out - only it didn't really used to have a lot of custom models. There were at first only a couple of trees, a bridge and some other random things. What I'm seeing from Thingumabob doesn't even look like Warcraft 3 anymore.
Hrm, kinda nice to see such old works. Wonder if I still have some of my stuff on the external HDD.. I always made playable stuff though, because I hate working on something just for a nice picture in some contest.
Are those B²M Doodads I smell there btw?

@Thingumabob: Go
There is a disappointing lack of screenshots. I'd recommend that you upload the screenshots.

"a disappointing lack of screenshots"? Try no screenshots are here lol. No sense sugar coating it. Unless he went to the bathroom mid-post.
Edit: ahh much better

Fixed (apparently not too familiar with the forum features yet)
Now, comment jackasses ;)
