Another monday means another WTE, and for this week I'd like to introduce an interesting new theme to our weekly sessions. In "Do that Doodad", the idea is that I grab a random doodad from the list, and your assignment for the week is to build a terrain around that specific doodad, enlarged to far beyond its normal height.
For example, for this week, the doodad of choice is "Temple Column" while the size is "At least 350". This means that your terrain must contain the 'Temple Column' doodad with a size of at least 350. You can use whatever tileset you want and any variation of the doodad, and you can put doodads around or on it; anything you desire. The only requirements are that you use said doodad, and that at least half of it is visible.
If you guys like the idea, I'll turn this into a series where we can do the exercise more often. For now, good luck with this one! :)
Add more stuff, dark Protoss buildings and units, and some lore, and you've got yourself a campaign map. Ridiculously original Sheo, this was the last thing I'd expect to have seen with that doodad. Good job :)
Cool idea Sheo. I like the little robotic-scarab-looking doodads and their differently textured and decal'd cells surrounding the middle, simple yet elegant.
Loving the idea of this WTE, i'm just consumed with making this awesome cinematic battle map - mainly an exercise in triggers ; ) If i get time i'll throw something in for this WTE.
In the end, all the efforts of the Terran and Protoss to stop the ruthless overmind were completely unnecessary. He met his demise after deciding to assimilate with a temple column......

What... is that?

Oh, my imagining of the overmind merging with a temple column, lol.

Very cool exaken, loving the recolouring!
