Believe it or not, but this week the WTE is exactly one year old! *blows party horn and puts on hat*
Weekly Terraining Exercise #42
For this week's theme, because of the WTE's anniversary, I figured we could go with Celebrate good times. What this would mean is that you should create a terrain that has something to do with partying or celebrating. Whether you make a club on a Terran homeworld or a Zerg dancefest is up to you, as long as it's cheerful and has something to do with partying.
Wonder what people will come up with - good luck everyone!
Here's something I whipped up. For this special WTE, I made my terrain completely in the previewer as a little challenge. It's a simple terrain, though. Just a hydralisk dancing on a random platform in space with fireworks. :D
I really wish there was a confetti doodad. I really wish there was... Anyway starting tomorrow I shall construct the largest fireworks display the video game world has ever seen! I'm thinking of a Korhal theme kinda like the Boston Pops if you know what that is.

Pish-posh, key in terraining is imporivising. If you lack a particular model, you compensate. If you lack the capacity to compensate, you pledge never to procreate.
either he is one of those conceded but skilled people, or he is just a push-over. But yeah, lets welcome the dude for what he is.
I was actually just making conversation in my own gradient way.
And in what sense of the word am I a push-over (legitimate question)? Not sure that's a term you should apply to people with 4 posts and no real confrontations to back down from yet;)
well in at least 2/4 posts you have already called out players for what they've done but you have not shown any of us how you do things. For all we know you are just someone who talks the talk but can't walk the walk. Good luck anyway and I'll be seeing you around.
I may have jumped the gun a little - I misread your comment on Zanryu's terrain; I thought your "Is this supposed to be a club?" comment was in regards to the WTE as a whole, that'd be my bad, Sorry.
What does stand is the proof of the terrain editor - I'll leave it up to you to look around 'till you like what you see.
Either way - welcome to Mapster and the terraining forums :)
Hehe, whose toes did I step on to get you two this passive aggressive?
When did I say I was skilled? Well, technically I did say that once, but hey I thought it was obvious that I was trying to witty.
Quote:
Thank you, apparently I'm a conceded but skilled push-over troll
I feel like you've misinterpreted me as a big-headed, self-proclaimed terraining jesus, when all I really did was post a semi-sarcastic input about improvisation ;)
And yeah, I'm trying to grow accustomed to starcraft terraining since I'm a Warcraft III terrainer.
No particular logic, just an occupational obligation if you will.
Mind if I upload a showcase of my Warcraft terrains?
as for this wte, I feel like passing now. I still have some work to do for my urban battle map's terrain. Then it's off to the trigger/data/project idea/team recruitment forums.
Heres my contribution: a Xel'naga partycruiser repaired by joined terran and protoss party adminstrations. Cuz nobody knew how to partay bettah then the Xel bloody naga.

Edit: found a much better vid.
...There is?
Disclaimer: I did not make the terrain in the picture.
I may be lazy but I've made a dancing scene in my current project, but it fits to the weekly's topic. ;P
I don't like the terrain aspect of the galaxy editor yet, get in line and prove me wrong.

Is that supposed to represent a club? What's with the stiff out-of-place medieval guy?
Looks like we got our very own terraining forum troll. Welcome Thingumabob, feel free to check out the WTE's, hang around, and contribute =P

That's just the test dummy hero. In later progress he will look different.
@Zanryu1337: Go I see, gun to my head I didn't catch that part about "current project" so I thought you were submitting an entry.
@Mozared: Go Thanks, I'll enjoy myself.

If you are indeed skilled, then let us see some of your work, assuming there is any.
