It is quite good as a monolithic structure. We have been lacking in those in SC2. Also, here's a minor update to my terrain. Mostly just lighting changes.
Oh, also there's a bit of a problem with this thread. There's no post #9, it jumps from 8 to 10.
Nice work there, now why don't I remember seeing the SC2 explosions with such quality. Haven't started HotS campaign yet but is this Mengsk's palace? Looks cool. Now add an eye and we will have the ALL SEEING EYE. Then put the billboard saying New World Order, and all's settled!
Good improvement! This new lighting works very well. For instance, the left side of Mengsk's palace is now lit, giving the viewer a better visual of the structure's geometry. Also, the warmer lighting gives the image more life, in that the city appears to be more alive than your first post. Very good!

I do terrain stuff.

That's all I can do!
Well, this took some time, but I managed to get something decent. Firstly I thought of the intro cutscene for HotS, but then the old time images of playing Gangsters 2 came in my mind. Thus, I made some mixes between along with some images I remember from my visits to Sao Paulo.
Very nice detail! However the first two images lack a particular point of interest, which makes me (the viewer) not know where I'm supposed to look. Try adding some lights around, say, the center cluster of buildings. This would let the audience know that they should look there, and not have to search all over the image to find an area to lock on to. Good nonetheless, anyway!
Edit: Also, see if you could change what your doing with the banshee, medivac and (in particular) the colonist ship and battlecruiser from the first two images, as I feel like they distract from the core of the image.
Well, I've got the Easter holiday off (till Monday!), so I'll probably be able to participate in this and the next WTE quite well. Speaking of which, Moz, mind giving us a head start on what the next WTE will be? I kinda want it to come tomorrow or Sunday, if possible; so I can contribute to those before my workload kicks in again,

I don't agree with you. The lack of something specefic to look at is good in this case, because when you're in such a big city, there is stuff everywhere and you don't know where to look at, everything blow to your eyes, you can't see everything at the same time. However, I agree that the Battlecruiser might be out of place. In overall you have a very good size perspective....that is destroyed by this battlecruiser. Remember the one from the cinematic falling from the sky, it is HUGE, and your is small. The Dropship on the ground could be one of the campaign dropship model that would looks awesome in this scene, such as the Raynor's one. A little detail, create a camera, set it's shadow to some huge number, the do view camera and use that view to take screens to have the shadows display even in the very far.
This is, epic. Honestly, I lack good words to describe the terrains we got this week. Anyway, I know you said it ain't finish yet, but I would say that the bottom of the screen is a little empty. The middle of the road could have something over more than only one texture.
I'd try darkening the overall scene, and perhaps increasing the emissive and bloom. I think it could help out the overall look quite a bit. Also, rain could maybe look quite nice.
Yeah, I darkened it abit more to fit in with the skybox. Other than that, the emissive settings were low cause some of the billboards are too bright (can't be bothered changing change the texture again =P).

Oh boy, do I! I've been waiting for an impressive, towering Blizzard asset since I first opened the Wings of Liberty beta editor.

I'll be making a HOTS and WoL city, which will actually be a Cortex Roleplay Map in both versions.
It may be released way after this WTE, but here is just a small intersection I've finished. @Mozared: Thanks for using my idea of a City WTE! :)
@Nebuli2: Go Very nice use of the Palace, and new Skyscraper model. :)
If it's okay, I'm bringing some pics in from my City of Horrors map. (I can't figure out how to get a dang Skybox!!)
@Alnatair: Go
You set a skybox in the terrain types by setting the Background model.

This suggestion actually intrigues me, but its 2:00 AM here, and I'm much too tired to do that now. Thanks for the compliment!

That for some reason didn't work... :|
I tried both fixed and the other option.

Your camera may have its far clip set too low. Try Ctrl + Mousewheel down.

Ok so I realized why I had such deja vu with all that palace stuff. This painting is from WoL, and it seems they did a good job remaking it.

Amazing job, so populated and full of life! Just as it should be, nice terrain.

Well, one of the mods has managed to get us some specific information and I've got a special WTE coming up next. Let's just say... think LotV.
Not quite done yet, but I'll just drop a small screenie for now.

Cheers! There's actually two textures in the centre, but it's a little hard to tell from that angle.

Thanks.
Anyways, welcome to Neo-Tokyo, 2040.
