Hello, you fool, I love you! Another monday's another WTE, and this week I came up with a theme that might be fun for you guys; "Learning Curve". The idea of this week's theme is that you either A) Create an entirely new terrain from scratch, with any subject, with as much or little detail as you like or B) Grab one of the previous submissions and attempt to make it, in your eyes, better.
Basically, the idea is that we'll be seeing a lot of different versions of very similar maps so that we can learn exactly how someone else would've created some of the aspects in your terrain. Someone creates terrain A, you grab terrain A and turn it into version A 2.0 so the original author can learn from your ideas.
When attempting to improve a previous terrain, keep in mind to be fair: don't just flatten the entire area and create your own terrain in the same tileset. Also remember to attach your map when you upload a submission, so others can have a go with it.
Good luck, hope we have a lot of participations, and I'll kick this one off with a tiny little showcase!
Aaah, now that's interesting. I was going for a dried up river bed look, but you've gone for lava - and very well I might add. Liking the burnt edges and the dead trees, colours work well there! That's really pretty cool actually :P
Tried to make it look more actively-fightee-y, messed with some textures, and added some details here and there... Put in a big gun for you since I mentioned it last WTE =P —all lovingly brought to you through the powers of schoolwork procrastination.
:O! What Gun is that?! It's sick haha! Also love the addition of that house into the hill, niiiiice.
Riverbed looks absolutely sick F0x, really good work there buddy. Gonna adopt that for the original I think, and definitely gotta find some way to put these lava effects in from Sheo and Neb.
Joe's already got half the name, its SMCharGatlingGun—when I made it a doodad I just modified the Monolyth Crystals actor's "Art: Model" to SMCharGatlingGun and the Monolyth Crystals model's ": Model" to "Assets\StoryModeCharacters\Terran\SM_Char_GatlingGun\SM_Char_GatlingGun.m3."
(Since I despise the look of Monolyth Crystals... <.< >.>)

This... this is an interesting WTE.
Here's some for you guys - first is a desperate attempt by a stranded nuke victim SCV to get off the planet.
Second is just a map I made a week or so ago and is a WIP.
See what you guys think.
P.S. For some reason it'll only let me upload 4 screenshots.... Dunno why. Have to make do with these ones.

Did some more on that lava thing:

I SHALL EDIT THIS TERRAIN.
More destruction is always good.
Epic continuation of Sheo's edits there Neb! Love the camera angle.

Camera angles can really determine how the whole thing works :)

Here is a waterfall cave i made, inspired by Mozared's "Welcome to the jungle" showcase thingie.

I really really like that Sheo. Love that archway, reminds me of something from Pirates of the Caribbean or something :P
Here's something I was mucking around with last night, just seeing if I could make even a semi decent castle out of some basic doodads.
See what you guys think, if you wanna give it an edit fire away.

Started working on the kings residence in the middle of the castle :D

I think I'll make some changes.
Realize the thread's pretty dead now, but I decided to mess around on Sheo's waterfall cave. Added a top layer of water and some other stuffs.
