The work on display thus far has been pretty good all round I reckon.
@Mogranlocky: Go Cbrag's got Rapture pretty well covered in my opinion ;) Very nice work there with the building lightning, makes the ambiance feel very Bioshocky!
replaywarrior's is another favourite of mine. It reminds of an old game called AquaNox :D
Thanks again! ill just stick with taking them in the editor then. I need to actually make something that actually looks good first tho. Im not very good but im trying.
Ok well, I'm a complete noob at terraining in SC2, I was really good at it in SC1/BW... but this Terrain Editor is just so much more complex.
I made an underwater city, except it won't be blue, and you'll see why. I was unable to add fog and crap... cuz... well.. I don't know how!! So I just played around with the colors mostly.
Story:: A Battlecruiser went down over an ocean on some world. During the fighting, the Terrans received a comm signal from the sinking Battlecruiser, saying that they were in a part of the cruiser that still had air, pressure, and was sealed off from the rest of the ship. So after the fighting, the Terrans send in an Underwater Submarine, but have lost contact except for the locator signal. Following it deep into the ocean, what they find "nesting" at the bottom is something they never dreamed of. Oh... and the battlecruiser settled into some magma flow deep in the ocean, where the heat and pressure is so much that the magma remains liquid and hot, despite the water!
Hey... I went for something different, and I tried :P
Screenshot taken in the Editor, hence why I can't place the 'Fog' doodads... stupid white circles!

Pretty sure you can change to In Game View (think it's V by default) to make the fog show up, or, you can go into the data editor, and under actors, look up the Fog doodad and change the Editor Model to the Actual Model instead of Editor Helper Model or whatever it's called.
Starting to get very rusty, but i gave it a try, with some sleep still in my eyes and about 10 min of messing around.
Too bad i didnt have time to figure out more for now, but i still have time right?
edit:
added a 2nd picture i made on my laptop instead with a Underwater base setting instead
The first picture is a bit hard to see the details. The second one looks quite nice with the lights and glowing crystals.
yeah, i had slept for like 5 hours and just woke up at that point and just messed around the light settings, as you might see, what i made there looked clear to me when i was fogged off, and i think i forgot to set the settings to ultra as i mixed the lights... so it became very messed up...
i am still annoyed i cant really get the underwater feel i want yet.... but i dont really have time for it before later this week.
My first attempt at any WTE. Mostly i have been trying to make melee mapsbut have not completed one yet. I also have some more sets i did that i will post later
What I did was put water on top of the terain that i lowered and edited the water... I turned down the alpha and color fall off then raised The Caustics fall off or whatever its called and changed the color. I changed depth of field a lil bit and fall off view. Then i just messed with the lighting a little bit and the put the camera right above the water so that you can still see the clear water. Hope that explains it good enough cause other than that i cant really remember what i did lol. I am really new to this.
meh, my laptop didnt save the underwater base of that picture, so i cannot do further fixes to it, but i will try to work out the other one when i get back.
Also pretty good uni, at least you got the light through water effect, where i just skipped that part and made it deep water.

Tried to go shallow waters.
This looks really nice. Any chance that you can upload the map as well?

@Gurrgel: Go
This library might be of help for anyone who is noobish on trigger but talented on terrain
http://www.sc2mapster.com/assets/system-free-camera-mode/
(just simple copy paste it in the map and you can rotate freely.)

How did you do the lightning on that, Untitled? It's spot on.
