This week, as per a long forgotten idea by Yukaboy, our theme for the WTE will be "The Great Wall". What does this mean? The idea is that you create some kind of 'wall' or 'gate' themed terrain that is meant to keep something (the Zerg?) out. The wall can be Protoss, Terran or even Zerg-orientated, as long as it's tall, impressive and sure to separate the safe area from the one that'd require hazard pay for employees visiting it.
I had an old terrain with a big wall already, so I spiced it up a bit with a city and a large frontal assault. Also, the field of view is raised up allot, so it gives a sort of dramatic effect with the subtle fish eye (makes far away look further and close look closer). Also I love to tilt the camera haha.
I like the contrast you are attempting to do here between barren wasteland, and civilized city. If you are looking for an extreme contrast between the two, I would change the crystals to a more orange, yellow or red tint to keep the browns, yellows, and reds on the leftt, and the blues, greys, and greens on the right side. (if you want the city to feel more a part of the landscape instead of detached then leave it as is) Other than that, very nice thus far :)
Weekly Terraining Exercise #140
Hey folks!
Good luck, and have fun!

and all caught within, shall tremble...

Hooo boy... excuse me while I retrieve my jaw from the floor.
Alright guys, I'm closing the topic. So much for this week's WTE, no more contributions are necessary. Thanks for your participation everyone.
A CHALLANGER APPEARS!
Nah, moz is right, no more WTE for ever, joe has out terrained us all.

haha <3 you guys :)

Interesting effect with the saturated coloring, though a tad odd why the fog is so bright blue, it looks cool and artsy.
Joe discourage me a bit and I don't have time this week for that, so I've decided to sing a song :
The wall was too high,
As you can see.
No matter how he tried,
He could not break free.
And the worms ate into his brain.

Awh :( , the purpose of making an epic terrain was to inspire and encourage others! Not to discourage! haha

ah don't worry, I'll be in fire next week!!!
Not done yet, but here's a quick peek:

It looks inspired by the Tiberium universe, but I guess that's the point with the projector things on the wall.
Making the wasteland more dark and foggy like an actual Red Zone would help. Perhaps lighting zone would work here?
So, I've finally decided to make one.
I think that's a tiny but a great and very useful wall....
I'm back from my trip, let's get ready to terrain!
Working on projects:
