Last week I promised to give you guys "Something Concrete" for a theme, so here it is. This week the assignment is to create something that primarily involves any of the 'Concrete' textures we have at our disposal. This means that we're talking mostly about something man-made, though the way with which you handle it is up to you; I don't care if you create your local police station or the perfect sidewalk for use in a city.
Whatever you do, good luck, and know that next week it'll be over with the puns ;)
Nice basketball court - you had my interest - now you have my attention.
Well this is the story all about how
Librarian's world got flipped turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute just sit right there
I'll tell you how Cadimus became the prince of a town called map-stere
It says something manmade, temple bricks and panels count right? Or does it have to specifically include the concrete texture?
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I am largely inactive, but I am still around. Feel free to poke me if you need some help, just be warned that I only really come back if I need help and/or if I'm posting a new map/library.
It has to include some kind of concrete. I included the term 'man-made' for some additional differentiation with more natural environments - if you'd make a Protoss temple you'd simply have... a Protoss temple, not something concrete. Which is cool, but not for this WTE. If you can make a Protoss temple with (plenty of) concrete, then be my guest; I'd like to see that, seems like it'd be hard.

Wow! Something on par to my basketball court... Interesting.
The only thing I'd criticize on, though, is the areas where you reserved the grass and trees, where I see decals instead of Ground Props interpreting decorative sidewalks. But then, I guess you wanted to keep it circular, so I'll leave it at that.
Weekly Terraining Exercise #105
Hey people!

Done.

Bwahahaahah xD
Pfff, lazy bastard. You don't get to abuse puns, that power's reserved for the mods. Get to work! :P
@Mozared: Go
Well, Gradius can joke, but I'm not here to laugh either.
Just a question, though: You said "Concrete". City blocks are valid, right?
@DeltaCadimus: Go
Yup, definitely.

Nice basketball court - you had my interest - now you have my attention.
Why do I forsee retextured statues of mensk, wraith and marine?

I don't know, maybe because you're making them as we speak? :D

Fiiiiine, you've twisted my arm now then eh? This week I'll make something special, just for you and Cadimus.
@DeltaCadimus: Go
You would be surprized what a simple texture swap can do to some doodads.

Alright. Thank you. :)
Alright, spent about an hour on this - have a gander, see what you guys think.
I'll be honest, was lacking inspiration for this WTE - but here goes anyway.

Librarian delivering as usual. Some floor spots are a tad empty. Perfect otherwise. Cool terrain bro, 10/10, would play again.

Excellent play, there, librarian.
@Mozared: Go
Danke. Agree with the floor comment, that's just my laziness kicking in ;)

Normally I admit I do use the ground props - wanted to try something new, I should have darkened the decals to make them blend in more. Next time eh!

Oh man, if only blizz made SC2 support wet terrain reflections like C&C3...
