Evening everyone! Sorry for the late update - a shopping spree (200 bucks worth of new clothes, ka-ching) got in the way. I've got something new and exciting for you guys, though. We're going to be pulling from a couple of Vossan's ideas that he posted in the general WTE thread, seeing as how they are all good. This week's theme we'll start off with We are Legends. For those who haven't seen the movie ("I am Legend"), what this means is the following: I want you all to create your rendition of a post-apocalyptic city, 10 years after the event, overgrown with plants, jungle and wildlife. For some inspiration, I'll refer you to this scene from the movie.
It is interesting, but I think the building is too messy. There is the same building placed diferent way the one in the others. The windows are just... incoherent. Except this, the Vines and Trees are great. I think you could continute to search different type of nature doodads.
The buildings are too regular. In fact, they appear to all be of the same variation; that just looks unnatural. Try mixing it up a bit; use different variations, scales, and angles.
Here's some more pics for yall. Also included a comparison of dark yellow tinted/not tinted vines IMO they look ten times more badass tinted, just something to consider ;).

For a terrain like this, I'd have to agree.
In regards to your submission: I quite like the whole thing. Only real note at this point would be that you should probably fill up the benches some more - it looks a tad unrealistic that the whole sitting area of each bench would be left clean.
Haha yeah, I agree. Nice work though Sheo, I like that way more than your other posts. =P
Edit: Here is what I made. I did not make the far far background of the city. But still, it does look very similar to the picture. Just noticed that I forgot to change the fog to white instead of the default blue fog =_=
I thanx myself for the 2 first pictures I made for all doodads project I'm making. It helps to find something fast and easy.
Not to take away from your fame, but perspective terrains do tend to look good. Your remake of the original picture is cool, though. And in response to the earlier comment: sure, post-apocalyptic towns don't need to always be Terran, but in this case I specifically wanted to go for a man-made post-apocalyptic city. We'll have plenty of times to try Protoss ruins or dead Zerg habitats at some point.

Here's something I threw together quickly.
Dat camera angle <3
Thanks for starting us off well Nebuli :)

My pleasure ;)
Aight here's a quick one from me, gonna keep 'working' though. A challenge for someone could be to not use rubble or vines....

I'm going to remake the scene Mozard talked about. Let's see how good I can be for remaking it =P Anybody can try too =P

The urban reclamation by nature theme is always good. Nothing like some mayan ruins.

Why does terran have to be the only style of post apocalyptic? Protoss worlds could have an apocalypse happen
Brood, that is really, really impressive. Kinda lost for words at the quality of the replication you've done there. Bravo.
@Scbroodsc2: Go wow, amazing!
Not bad for a single angle terrain. Good sure of the vines doodad.

Well, thanx, I'm happy of the result too. =D I wonder what think Mozared, hahaha.

Only one step left; Repopulation!
