Though I'll try to give you guys something concrete next week, this week's WTE will have another somewhat abstract theme: "Fogging up". The idea here is that you guys create any sort terrain that involves heavy fog. Whether this is something swamplike, some kind of geyser or a mountaintop is up to you, as long as you fog shit up.
Pretty epic terrain. You might want to remove the waves, though. Also, scantipedes are natural predators, so it shouldn't be there because it would either be frightened away by the Ghost or attacking the Ghost's relatively unprotected - and tasty - flesh.
Go into the Data Editor then find the Water data type under Terrain Data. Select the water brush you're using and select none for the Beach Shoreline and Cliff Shoreline entries. Don't forget to save and reopen your map or you probably wont see your changes immediately. The GE seems a little slow when it comes to updating terrain changes in real time.
I'd actually suggest you to not remove the shorelines. I like them here. The water would be bland without them and they make the whole scene a bit more lively. I agree with the Scantipede though, even if it was added on purpose. Overall a very nice scene though - the level of detail is perfect. Only thing you could add are some bush and rock small doodads. Very nice first submission!
So I'm doing an entry and it's a battle scene (sort of a followup to my entry for the last contest, a creep choked city fight) anyhoo I need some help,
I've made a ModelAddition of the Marine Muzzle Flash but I can't get it to play continuously. It plays once then just stops. Any idea how to fix this? Thanks

Try checking Play Forever in the actor's events. (Should look like the selected event in my screenshot, but using Stand instead of Birth.)
Hmm I did that already but it still only played once for some reason. Maybe I need to tweak some settings...
Edit: AHA! I added an AnimDone event set to play the animation again when the animation finished and now it loops. Thanks, I wouldn't have thought of it without seeing it on your screenshot :)
Nice! I like the scale and how the lower-ground swamp ties into it well. Also like how it's a tad difficult to see what is swamp and what is purely water. Perhaps more brush and such on the ground could improve the whole swamp feeling (and maybe a bit more fog too, so that you can only barely make out the ground texture which will immediately make it feel more plant- and swamp-like). All in all a splendid spread, though. Inspired by some of the Goblin towns/oil pumps from WoW, by any chance?
Hey Sheo, could you post the map? I might try to work around and try to add things. I don't know what exacly, but I'd like to continu someone else terrain, just to try.
Can I have sexual intercourse with both of you?
JOKING
I really like your first submission, Kanzy (can I call you that?). It would be cooler imo if the rest was up on level 1 cliffs, but it looks pretty cool the way it is now. Oh, and, leave the scantipede.
Sheo, you're making me blind by hours of me marvelling at your gorgeous works... Keep being awesome!
Inspiration was what i remembered the planet Sargasso being like from the Ratchet & Clank franchise, swamp and structures made up from mainly white and yellow metal. Will probably try to incorporate what you said into the bottom layer, also really like the mat of vegetation idea.
I really really like it Sheo! It's funny 'cause I got my brother the Ratchet and Clank HD collection on the PS3 for his Birthday recently so been seeing a lot of Ratchet and Clank and you've really captured the style I must say :)
So here's what I had done for this contest... I didn't really get to finish it up as much as I'd like due to a stupid lingering throat infection :( but I wanted to post it up regardless.
Weekly Terraining Exercise #104
Hello again folks!
Good luck and have fun!

I just made this one kind of, like, an hour ago. My first WTE I'll participate, I hope.
I'm just wondering what the hell is this Ghost hunting... or who..,
Pretty epic terrain. You might want to remove the waves, though. Also, scantipedes are natural predators, so it shouldn't be there because it would either be frightened away by the Ghost or attacking the Ghost's relatively unprotected - and tasty - flesh.

Very nice. I have to wonder though, is the Ghost the hunter... or the prey?
@SGTMeowmers9: Go
Well, can't remove the waves from the water. At least I don't know how to.
Also, added the Scantipede on purpose. Just to add a bizarre feel to the situation.
@Kanitala: Go
Yup, that too. :D

You can.

Reminds me of a scaled down mako reactor from ff7 :D

I really liked the design, gives that refinery view, and it even reminds me of a sea oil platform. (Armageddon, anyone?) :)

It's ALL in one same level, I just made some mounds, that's it.
Also, "Kanzy" is your mother. >:)
