I have decided what I am going to attempt next. Due to the lack of Protoss terrains I have been given the idea of making a usable map featuring the protoss. They are also my favorite multiplayer race whenever I get in the right mood to play multiplayer again, I only hve played one or 2 games this season. Most of my terrains don't turn out all that great but stay tuned anyway. I like to keep myself as positive as possible or else I'll get bored and not bother. I feel a bit unsure about this but I'm going to give it my all for awhile and see how things go. I'll either bump this thread or make a new one when I'm finally finished. I'll start sometime later today after I get some stuff straightened out. If anyone wants to post any Protoss related terrain or even art, feel free as I need enough material to, as an archon says, "Break on through!" Lately I have had almost no desire to do much of anything besides play this game I found, but none of you are interested in that so I'm off to the map forgery (aka, map editor)
Edit: also this community really needs some coffee, look at the lack of post lately.
a protoss terrain is a terrain that features the protoss as a race. It is not biological like the zerg, nor does it have all the metallic junk like the terrans. I am just so very sick of seeing space platform after space platform.... Someone seriously needs to make something that is not industrial themed.

uhh, Shakuras? Aiur? Bel'Shir? and maybe that Xel'naga ship thing the campaign had (also in the editor)
I guess for the moment its all about temples and crystals for protoss.

You're misreading his post. I made the same mistake first time I read it. Reaper isn't saying that 'the ability to make Protoss-themed terrains' doesn't exist, he's saying not a lot of people are making Protoss-themed terrains.
Something I guess I do disagree with, though - there's plenty of people making Bel'shir and Aiur temples. Shakuras isn't used as much, but it's still around.

Definitely Bel'shir is often used, have always loved the trees myself more than plain Agria. However personally I dont like how blizz made the temple wall doodads too yellow-ish (at least for me); looks too un-ancient, they dont match with most of the other doodads like the pillars and columns that have a more ancient brown feel to it.
Shakuras would be rare choice i guess, since the environment looks often dark and dense; but doesn't have that horror feel for horror maps. People tend to go industrial terrain for horror along the lines of a Dead Space feel of somesort.
I was actually in the same situation, but now I like Aiur a lot. There's a surprising amount of good Aiur doodads that you generally don't find or think of when making a Bel'shir terrain. The cliffline is also pretty cool. I'd recommend setting your filter to 'Aiur' and trying to make a simple terrain - you'd be amazed at the useful stuff that pops up.
Meh, I'll just try to make an Aiur something or other when I get the chance. Maybe I can make a showcase out of it even, idk. Why does nobody ever seem to use the Xel'Naga texture? Actually, I might ty to use that instead. Black terrain with creepy neon lights and spinning turrets ftw!

Alas, industrialism is a theme in the majority of SC2 models.
