I can't seem to be able to do this. Would anyone mind explaining this? I realize where to go and how to add unit, add model, and actors, but it won't let me select my custom unit once i create my own actor and what not... And it will not let me alter the default Raynor at all... I really want to use Raynors model for my unit, so does anyone have any help for me?
Duplicate Raynor's actor and then link it to your own unit. BUt when you duplicate it, right click and hit duplicate. Then check all of the stuff under "actor" That way you can be sure you didn't mess up anything by mistake in the actor fields. Not being able to select units is weird, but the galaxy editor DOES have some bugs, so I would suggest restarting the editor. This fixes most totaly random bugs for me.

I tried doing what you said. Duplicating the actor and linking it to my unit, but that's when I run into trouble. I go to the field where it says unit name, where jim raynor is, and try to change it to mine, but mine doesn't show up? Is there an alternative way of linking the actor the my unit?
I have the same problem. There seems to be something crazzy dividing campaign and melee. If I add all dependencies I cant see the units from campaign when I modify melee units.
Other thing is when I got melee unit and then add dependencies from campaign my unit is renamed to Name (Unnamed) and everything crashes...

I'm pretty sure the second part of this is a known bug. If you add dependencies to your map after you edit data it screws with your edited stuff. I'm pretty sure blizz knows about it by now, so there should be a fix eventually.
From what I learned from around sc2mapster is turn all dependencies besides Campaign off, seeing as how Campaign uses the same melee units plus more. Then restart your editor and it should work just right.

This is my problem. My units name is "Colonial Specialist" but it doesn't show up.
