So i have an idea to add a super unit for each race... like a giant hydralisk with special abilities but i dont' know how to duplicate it and make it buildable and placeable. When i duplicate the unit, i cannot place the copied version on the map because it doesn't give me an option. help me please. also, i need a bit of help on how to add special abilities to units. thanks.
You need to duplicate the actor as well, since for some reason an actor can't belong to two units.
Everything that shows up on the map needs an actor since the actor holds the model and all that information. So when you duplicate, check the actor and it will make a duplicate version of that.

Don't forget to manually duplicate "action" actors for missiles for that unit.
GE does not duplicate actors related to the unit's linked unit's actor's action. Hmmm... starting to see why the Blizzard failed to program this in properly.

Actors don't "belong" to units, and you can certainly have two units use the same actor just by setting up event responses in the actor for both units.
I don't mean to be nitpick, but a lot of people get confused about how actors work and I just don't want anyone getting any weird ideas.

:O prob need to fix the post for who you're quoting.
Anyway MasterDinadan is saying look at actors as just visual attachments. When certain event occurs, the graphic is drawn (attached) to the position of the unit (or whereever).
Ugh I hate threads like this, your not really even trying to learn how to do it, there is a tutorial section on this site and I know for a fact you can find several tutorials showing and explaining how to do what you asked.
