My computer suddenly crashed and when i started up the map then it would not load. I tried to open it up in notepad and it was blank, the size is however at 1mb so its not "empty". Any way of restoring it somehow?

I have no extra saved backups.
Are you sure you have no backup?
Happen to me one time and i didnt know but i found a backup of my map on my computer.

as the other ones said, look for "EditorTest" map. if that doesnt work, activate this option in the editor.
next get an MPQ-Editor, open your broken map and try to extract as much as possible. then reimport it to a new map.
