Hi all, when you select a race the appropriate default interface gets loaded, which looks different depending on your race.
Is it possible to change this after the game has started? For example if you have a custom AI can you let the player choose their race AFTER they are in the game, and then show the appropriate UI theme?
Many many many many people have asked this. The answer has been no many many many times. Hopefully that will change soon, but for now, I can not figure out how to change it in-game. It should be possible to create a custom HUD via dialog boxes and change their color with triggers, but thats not a very good solution....In case you did not know, you CAN set up a players race in the player properties menu, so you could make player 1 always be zerg, etc. Sorry =[

Yea, I investigated further and found out that it was a constant value. I will see if I can come up with a work-around today or tomorrow as its only the visual aspect that I need. Thanks for your time ZeldaRules =)
@KineMorto: I bet you can even push the correct AI on the game. When they change race… SO their UI changes and they think they changed their race. I don’'t know if this is possible, just sounded like a good solution!

Of the little I've messed with UI related tasks, I believe the answer leads to no. Others are free to correct if this is not the case.
Bumping this. Has anyone found a solution here? Its very crucial to the feel of a project I am working on.

Are we able to do this now ?
as far as i know no, but you can cut off everything and try to rebuild it with dialogs, later you can change the dialogs to anyhting you want
That's still not feasible since you still can't initiate targettable abilities from triggers (hence dialogs) afaik
