I think for some my question might be a bit clumsy.
I tried to modify the colossus thermal lances' trajectory.
The offset shown in the "Create persistent" effect is originally designed to make a line.
I modified it to make a circle so that the laser beam draw a circle.
I modified my "perodic offset" to 19 to match the number of offset, but when I test my map the beam follow an odd trajectory, starting slightly off to the north
and going far away from the caster and disappear shortly.
I've noticed that the beam last the same duration that the default colossus attack.
If the don't take into consideration that X,Y are width and length of the map, how does it work ?

The visual movement of the beams is controlled by site movers and is completely separate from the effects used to search for targets to damage.
This thread is really old, but I find myself struggling to find a solution to the same problem. Anybody got an update on this?
Under the data forums and tutorials there are some answers. For completion, I have found these factors affect how the beam curves.
1. The max speed of the mover
2. The time between periods
3. The model used for the beam (for some reason archeon beam is alot slower than collossus while soulsteal3 is great)
4. The distance between the offsets of the periodic effect
