How do magazines react to their carrier getting a buff of some sort? Do the magazines get the same effect?
I'm wondering because I have a series of buffs in my map that increase/decrease damage and I'm not sure if a certain character (similar to the Brood Lord) will be properly affected by them or not, since his magazines deal damage instead of him actually dealing the damage directly.
If magazines don't share their creator's buffs, how can I force them to do so?
They dont as they are independent units but you can add buffs to them using the Effect - Effects field of the Arm Magazine ability. As the effects are applied by the ammo units and not the unit with the arm magazine ability you would have to use a more complex system to get them to have a buff applied to them when the host unit does.
Have the ammo units cast a Search Area effect on launch with a Unit Type validator for the host unit which then applies a Create Persistent effect to the host unit. The persistent on the host then casts a Create Persistent effect back to the casters with a Unit Coompare Behavior Count validator that the source unit needs to have a certain behaviour count (your buffs) which then uses a Apply Behavior effect to apply the boost buffs to the ammo unit casters.
Darn, I had a feeling I'd get a response like that. I've done something similar to that before (not involving magazines). Hmmm, guess I've got some work ahead of me.
