I was working on my map earlier today, then I saved and closed the Editor, then when it finished, restarted my PC. Once I opened it up again and launched the Editor, I kept getting an error message "Dependency data could not be loaded. Continue anyway?". If I press yes, it immediately fails and gives me this message:
"Unable to open archive (Files are missing from your StarCraft II installation.): D:\Games\StarCraft II\Maps\Toast\OrionTheFinalFrontier.SC2Map"
I opened up SC2 to check if there was an update or if it was going to redownload any files, but it didn't. Is there a way to revert this, or at least extract the data/triggers/terrain/whatever from the map and put it in another one?
PS: I looked into the Backups folder, but it seems to have backed up only the first 5 versions I saved (which was just terrain from 3 months ago). I assumed it would replace those files with newer ones when I had set a cap to save backups...
My backup folder has nearly 3000 files. Backups don't get replaced. It sounds like you turned the backup function off - a pretty unwise thing to do for exactly this reason.
Anyway, PM me your broken map file if you like, and I'll see if I can restore it.

Seems salvaging isn't possible, I guess. Oh well, time to start over.
