I couldn't find relevant info from searching, but can we use mods? I'm asking because I published a mod with some custom models (only) and then I chose it as a dependency on my actual map... which appeared to work. I was able to use those models in the map. However, once I hit publish (on the map) it fails before even starting, saying: Unable to read header file for document dependency: Afterlife Models (Core: file not found)
Afterlife Models is the mod I published FYI.
Am I missing something or just doesn't work? Would be a shame because I need to use a mod due to space constraints.
it should work
SC2BW uses.... 5 mods in a chain.
make sure you've added the battle.net dependancy. not just local dependancy. otherwise i need more info
I did the same thing, works just fine. I have a mod, just holding my assets, I published it and put the file in SC2/Mods. I added the uploaded mod file to the dependencies and made it use the file in the mod folder as local file (this is not required for publishing, but very useful, if you do not want to connect with the battlenet everytime you open your editor).
Make sure to update the dependencies in your map, whenever you update your mod. Unlike the blizzard dependencies, this does not happen automatically.
I will probably almost never update my mod after the first time anyway. My mod has no dependancies itself, is that right? Since it just holds model imports.
Well, can one of you try and make a map with my mod's dependancy? ie add 'Afterlife Models' as a dependancy and try and publish your map.

Didn't work. I tried to go back to my mod and republish it. I removed it from Bnet then published again, and the 6.57 MB took 1 second to upload successfully. That seems wrong... maybe since it was already on there?
Also, I thought mods get 20MB, why does it say 6.5/10 MB?
If the mod is just models, you can force the map to no longer use it by editing two files in the components. Then, after the map no longer has the mod as a dependency, re-add it. Basically any reference to the models will appear as errors/white spheres, but as soon as you re-add the mod as a dependency, all should be fine.
I'll see what I can do. Since mods are private I think, I've attached my mod. Can anyone (who is willing) try and publish it themselves under w/e name and use it on a test map of their own? (and try and publish that map too).
You'll get to see all of the cool Egypt WoW models too! :D

I would, but I doubt, its on EU, right? ;)
Make sure the dependency has the published file as well as the local file listed.

It's on US.
Zantai, let me try that.

your mod has no dependencies? could be why
just use the liberty one that all maps come default with.
@maverck: Go
Hmm okay.
Woot so I had to add liberty as a dependancy as maverck said (to my mod). Strange and random bug but oh well.
