When you duplicate an Actor, change all its models from 'X Copy' to 'X', with X being the name of the actor. Some tutorials say this can be skipped, but it can't.

THANK YOU SO MUCH. I am struggling to get through this data editor, nothing makes sense and no tutorial actually EXPLAINS how it all works. Thanks again though.
First off, make sure you've found the Actor (whatever unit you want your new unit to look like) and duplicated it. Then you needed to modify the unitName field so it's the same as the Unit you're giving an Actor to. This is just what the tutorial should have already said.
The part that you might have missed is this: Once the Actor is duplicated, scroll down and find the 'Art - Model', 'Art - Model (Build)', 'Art - Model (Placement)', and 'Art - Model (Portrait)' fields. Make sure the associated fields don't say something like 'Marine Copy'. If they do, double-click on it and find the actual original Marine Model (which should just say Marine). And do something similar for the others. Got it?

Yeah I was able to get the models ingame, now the only thing what was missing were the sound effects.
I have a problem that is mildly similar, only, when I duplicate something, there is no models. None, not even the fields in which to change the model directory. I think this problem might just be me, but if anyone else has it and knows a way around, or a fix, please let me know.
That's the thing, the art/models section thing isn't even there! I don't know whats wrong. And because those models aren't there, I can't change the model path directory.
OHHHHHHH! I get it. I have to duplicate the actor set. Well, I feel like an idiot. Thanks for all your help! my problem was that when I duplicated an object, I didn't duplicate the actor set. Hence, the lack of Models. Durp is all I have to say about that.
I right click the Marine (I want a Marine with various abilities) and click Duplicate.
Now I tick in every box.
At 'Actors' in the units list I selected 'Marine Copy' and changed 'Art - Model, Model (Build), Model (Placement), Model (Portrait) to the original Marine.
I now have the Model ingame, but now I don't have the sounds when moving, attacking or whatsoever.
And I also have no death animations.
I'm trying to figure it out but I can't seem to find out how.
I followed various unit tutorials, but I keep getting these black and white blobs constantly.
Anyone knows how to fix this?
Yes.

@Sceptilesolarbeam: Go
How do I do that?

Should be the same thing. Check that your unit has an actor and that the actors art settings are all to the actual model name without the word copy.

It's the Actor type you're duplicating here and looking for the models in, not the Unit, right?
... Just checking.

Ok, this is what I did:
Go to Data - Units.

Bump.
