im looking to edit the standard maps that come w/sc2 spcifically sand canyon just to adjust the mineral fields to have a lot more money etc....i know how to do all of that but i have an issue with once the game is saved/published i cannot find it in the maps under single player vs AI....again just looking to make sand canyon rich in resources and be able to play in single player vs ai...any and all help is welcome
It wont appear in singleplayer vs ai i think..u have to "create custom game" i think. And ...if ur a newbie......well...changing the amount of minerals a mineral has..is hard for a newbie..but good look.
Changing the minerals in a field is the first thing I did when I started with the SC2 editor. It was surprisingly easy.
To change all mineral fields:
Data Editor -> Units tab -> Select mineral field -> select the Minerals (Mineral Field) behavior at the bottom -> find the Stats - Amount and Stats - Capacity entries and change them to whatever you want.
Or to just change one field on a map: Double-click, go to resources tab, change it.
If you cant find it in singleplayer vs AI, its cause it's not downloaded (not downloaded into your sc2 cache, or wherever DLed maps are stored. Yes, you have to DL your own maps). Go on multiplayer, create game, search for your map, download it, and THEN you can play it in singleplayer vs AI.

Or find the resource behavior for the mineral fields and set the amount and capacity to max.
