So a while back I remember some of us discussing ways to make a flashlight, but we never actually came up with a working idea. So basicly I'm asking whether someone has figured out how to do it? I've been looking into the whole transparent floodlight actor, but the model is too visible through dust ect.

I can think of a way of doing it off the top of my head; Change a unit's vision sight to a cone and place some of those 'light' doodads in front of it and give vision to wherever the light doodads are + make them a bit brighter + change color to white so it looks like a flashlight's light. Also turn off the unit's vision some how, or make invisible sight blockers around him so that it appears everything is dark except for the lighted spot.
Eventually I'm sure someone will get around to editing the floodlight model and taking out the floodlight but leaving the light effects, and that will be the flashlight...just a matter of time.
It should be the map.
It seems he attached a streetlight on the unit shoulder lolz
Just do it with one of the lights doodads in game and it's easily done
No its not actually. The light doodads ligh tup in a circle around itself. What is need some something like an attached floodlight. However even with an invisible floodlight, the model will still appear in dust clouds ect

hmmm would it be possible to create Sight Blockers that effect only a special unit? (or at least only the player owning the unit? )

Mmmmm I'm pretty sure I've seen a video on this forum some months ago showing a marine (or marauder) going around with a flashlight on his head.
You mean this one I believe: http://www.sc2mapster.com/maps/d-e-d-c-r-f-t/
