I've been sort of random testing trying to get the game lobby to look normal.
That takes a while though so I wonder if anyone knows exactly what settings I need to change to make it make it look like whats below.
I want 2 teams joinable
Team 1
player 1 - Computer spot locked (shouldn't show up in lobby)
player 2 - user
player 3 - user
player 4 - user
player 5 - user
Team 2
player 6 - Computer spot locked (shouldn't show up in lobby)
player 7 - user
player 8 - user
player 9 - user
player 10 - user
There is a tenth computer controlled player but I don't want that player to show up on the lobby.
I don't want players to be able to add teams. Players colors should be locked.
That's essentially it. I wish it wasn't so hard to achieve what I want. Also I don't want any header issues.
I thought the data editor was confusing, this is worse.
You're not alone... this is just frustrating. I don't get the whole system either. Nothing I set up in the editor itself shows up in the lobby, even when I create custom modes. Can it be that hard to lock player slots/teams/colors?
Usually you dont find your settings cause you MUST set your custom mode to Default (right click -> set to default).
The other problem is that half of the settings will cause a corrupted header or will be simply ignored :D
Yes, that's what I found, too. But setting custom mode to default also does not prevent the player from reconfiguring it (which would cause my map to break sadly)...
And yes, the corrupted header issue is also pretty annoying.
I am just trying to do a singleplayer map with 4 AI's and 1 player. 2 of the AI's are supporting the player, whereas the other two are attacking... this just doesn't work because the lobby is totally screwing up my setup. Sometimes, I am in one of the slots where an AI was supposed to go, sometimes the AI is player, sometimes teams get mixed up and form alliances that they should not...
My whole trigger setup totally depends on the player setup.
I didn't update this topic because I didn't think many people were discussing it but now that the game is out, its definitally going to be a big issue. Here's what I did to make it most like what I wanted. Some of the issues that I don't like though is that computer spots will always visually appear below real players. I'm not sure if this even works correctly because I only did some minor tests.
These are the current settings which have been my best attempt at achieving what I want. Not perfect yet.
Everything I don't mention is default settings.

You are officially my hero. This setup seems to work for me (with FFA instead of 4vs4 ofc). Did you try to lock some of the options? Does that work?
