Does anyone know if it's possible to change the Mind Control ability to be able to be used on Protoss units and not just on Zerg units? I wanted to add it to one of the units on my map but if I can only control Zerg units, it's not as useful, so I may as well just not add it.
No, I had already tried that. It didn't work. Thanks for helping though. Any other ideas? The main idea is to try and get Mind Control to function like it did in StarCraft Brood War.
Where at under the Behavior does it have the values? Because I removed the values from the validator, but it still showed up with an error when I try to mind control Protoss or Terran that it only works on Zerg units.
Okay, I'm still a little confused. I'm quite new at this, I'm sorry if this is frustrating for you, I'm just a noob... Here's a screenshot. Is this what you are talking about? Because I still don't know what you mean.
I have almost done that in my mod file. At the moment I have problem with my mod file's localication but you have to change few values to make it work. I will post something soon.
Wait, I figured it out. I finally get it. Thank you so much. I can't believe it was that simple. I feel like a complete idiot. And of course the post right before this one was NOT what you meant, but it was close. But I still finally got it and I fixed the problem. Thanks for all your help DrSuperEvil.
Looking at your pic you still need to explore alot of the data types. Start by following existing units effect trees like the broodlord (as a tough example) and get a gereral idea as to how all the data types link together (actors are a pain to understand fully).

Yeah, I only have used the Units, Models, Abilities, and Buttons really. Not much else. I haven't even started on Actors, just because I didn't want to worry about it yet. Thanks for the suggestion.
You need to gain a grasp of the Unit , Missile/Beam (Simple) and Action type actors as those are important for getting the unit to be visible and for it to have any sort of missile/beam/attack.
Also the abilities, weapons, effects and behaviours data types form a network that is the basis of any weapon or ability. Then there is the requirements and validators data types which are needed to control the use of stuff mentioned in the previous sentence.
I advise you read some of the tutorials by prozaicmuse in the tutorials forum.
I will take a look at the tutorial forum as soon as I can. From just taking a glance at it, it looks like it will be a huge help. Thanks for that suggestion as well.

Removing the validator entirely should work.
Dont forget the ability has it under smart validators too as well as the apply behavior.

Under the Ability and the Apply Behavior effect.

I looked under the Ability and I couldn't see the Apply Behavior effect anywhere. Could you by chance post a screenshot? That would be more helpful.
The ability has an Effect - Effect field, that uses an Apply Behavior effect found under the Effects data type.

Have you looked under the Effects data type?

EDIT:
Effect - Validators!
Remove the Is Zerg validator and you should have more luck.
