Hello SC2Mapster. (this is my unofficial greeting to the site) I've been making a map where I've been in need of a parasite type of ability. I have the jist of it down but I have a problem. The the unit spawned from the parasite is spawned once the effect expires AND when the effect kills the target. (If my memory serves parasite didn't spawn a unit on expiration) I would like to get this effect to only spawn a unit on the unit's death but frankly I'm not sure how.
I have a feeling it can be done with validators but my knowledge of validators is very small and I;m also not sure where to put them in my effect chain.
Any info would be great, or if anyone knows of a map with a similar ability on it. Let me know so I can look at it.

Do you want it to spawn whenever an afflicted unit dies of any cause as long as it has the parasite effect (thats how WC3's ability worked) or only when the unit specifically dies from the parasite DoT damage?
to make the unit die of any effect while the parasite effect is on him, just make a modification+ under combat, chance 1 (100%) with effect of spawn unit. to make it so it only dies if from the dot, cant think of osmething off the top of my head, i got a lot of stuff on my plate atm with my map sry...

Ok I've tested it out and this is what I wanted. Thank you so much. I never realised there was an effect area under the combat tab of modification+.

For my case, killing the unit specifically off of the DoT damage would be great, but I'll take either route.

Even just setting the damage to 99999 shouldn't be a problem.
