Hey guys, not sure where to put this question but here it goes. Im looking to make a custom character in the SC2 map maker. I wanted to use either Jim Raynors marine suit animation or Tycus's marine suit anim. I cant seem to find a single thing having to do with any hero units found in the story mode. I also heard the Taurren Marine was in the map maker and cant find it either. Can anyone help me?
Go into File -> Dependencies, click "Add Standard" and check off Liberty (Campaign) then select it and use the arrows on the bottom to move it to the top of the dependency list. Hit OK and you're done, the campaign units and heroes should appear in the editor
ok so thanks for that info.. the only thing is is i made my character like i normally do but i cant see my character? it usually pops up as a green protoss unit so i can click on him to make him but it isnt there and ive tried a few times. Anything different when your creating a custom unit with the attributes of a hero? like model, voice etc?
i may be doing it wrong.. the unit object properties and the actors object properties of Jim Raynor (marine) are different. In the unit object properties i can click on (Jim Raynor (Marine) and in the actors properties that isnt an option but there are options under raynor.. so im not even sure which one to choose for that but the character isnt even showing up in the unit selection... hmmm..
It'd be awesome if you could just look at the stickies on top of the tutorials section of the forum or search for keywords before posting. Some threads are difficult to find but there are many many tutorials for hero creation.
This thread should be put in the map development forum for one thing, his question related to the data editor and not to trigger libraries.
the only thing is non of those stickys answer my question. Im trying to make a custom unit with the model of jim raynor as a marine. I know how to make a custom unit but this one isnt workin for me. Its like the hero models or sm characters werent made like the standard units were. just wondering if anyone knows about that or a way around it.
@happy04: Go
thanks for that... ill see what i cn do when i get home.
UPDATE: yeah still not workin. One thing i noticed while tryin to create my unit is that usually when creating the unit i have to go in and change the toek n to my units name but when i try to now my units name doesnt show up in the list. i guess it just doesnt work.

Just dont do it with your map open, I just did, and half the units on the map disappeared...
Edit: They came back on re-load. But its still annoying.
