I hope this is the correct place to speak of this issue that has been driving me insane... But, When I go into Galaxy Editor, everything seems fine. But then, it happens. Hot pink dyes the screen and I can't do anything (besides move the mouse or force my laptop off by hitting the power button). It is very annoying and makes it near impossible to get anything done as I would like too. I'm unsure, but I would like to know. Is this due to my laptop maybe, or is this the galaxy editor? Either way, how do I fix it / get it to work normally?
Could be your graphics card which gets too hot or is somehow broken and can't handle the SC2 engine.
What kind of Laptop are you using and how old is it? Is there a possibility of collected dust inside it or have you found a way to clean it properly? Are you using the latest graphic card drivers?
It's a Asus with a intel core of i7, its not even a year old yet. Really hoping it isn't the graphics card, otherwise from what I know on laptops, I'll have to buy another laptop. <_>; Cleaning, well, that's something I could try to see if it helps. I just updated my drive with the help of my sister, though it made it happen less often it seems... My laptop will still have a pink out.

Probably not a dust problem if its such a new laptop.
Do you use any other 3D applications on the laptop? If nothing else makes problems a hardware problem is rather unlikely.
Well, I have Blender and have messed around with making 3D models, never had a problem with it at all. Then again, maybe I'm cursed, on my old laptop, I had issues of crashing whenever I used the Warcraft 3 map editor... But, that's besides the point. Still, I don't want to give up and I'm going to keep looking for a way to understand why my laptop has pink outs.

I was just guessing because I had graphic card problems in the past and it also messed up all the colors and stuff. But it could be a lot of stuff, so if it only buggers out for the Galaxy Editor it is less likely that it is a hardware problem I think.
I remember having a similar issue. I had modified my ATI graphics settings, and suddenly the computer froze like you describe whenever I opened the editor. I saw no pink, but I couldn't do anything but turn off my computer. All I had to do to fix was to reset my settings to default.
I got it fixed about 6 days ago and was going to say so sooner, but... A family issue came up. Turns out I had to change NVIDIA settings a bit and now it has yet to have another pink out. Thanks everyone for trying to help me out. ^_^

A friend of mine had the same issue with his 9300M card.
Turned out that they are modifying the SC2 shader. We set it from low to medium and that fixed it.
