I want to know how to change how stimpack works like how much HP it reduces, its duration, attack speed, and movement speed. And is there a way to assign this changed stimpack to a specific terran infantry unit only and not the others? Thanks for any help.
You will find all of the data variables you want under the stimpack behavior. If you want to apply stimpack to other units you can, but you are going to have to give them the ability and change some actors and the linking of abilities.
its eassy to change the stim pack, i would suggest leaning how its done and remaking it , but the easy way out is :
- find the ability: and go into " command + " in here u can change attack speed.
- in the same ability: Cost - cost + select the first line and scrool ALL THE WAY down. you can see how much HP lost he takes.
you can then add this to ANY unit , but if u add it to a HYDRA , ALL the hydras in the game are gona have it . so if u only want 1 hydra to have it for example , your gona need to creat a Custom unit.
EDIT: to change the duration of the stim , its in the behaviour . under Stats - duration
Uh I still can't find where to change attack speed. I looked at the Ability tab -> commands things but I can't find it. Can you be more specific? Thanks.
Yay I finally found it. :) So if I want to use this special stimpack for a hero marine, will I just have to change the hero marine's stim pack behavior buff? And also, how can I make this stimpack immediately available to the hero marine so that it doesn't need to research it? Thanks a bunch.
just modify what you want then give your hero marine the ability. ( but its always good to duplicate or make new once so diffrent untis can have diffrent stimpacks.)
in the ability : comand + , click on the first line ( execute ) then click on the red X ( no research needed )
The requirement is found in the Ability - Commands +. Click the small red x in the bottom right of the field, where you can select a requirement to remove it.
To give the modified stimpack to a unit, just create a new stimpack ability, which uses the behavior (you can exactly replicate the old stimpack using similar abilities, effects and behaviors modified to fit your needs).
Then just add this new ability to your hero and add a command card button for it.
Also, these are very basic questions, you should be able to answer them yourself by just looking at the standard stim abilities and the units using them + a small trial and error session, or by reading some basic data editor tutorials.
Yeah, I finally figured everything out by myself. Actually, I had to duplicate stim pack requirement from Requirement tab and then set the type to Behavior Allowed and Alias to my special stim pack. Then I add the new stim pack button that links the new stim pack command with the new stim pack requirement. Anyways, thanks for the help. I'm sure I can learn more by reading tutorials on here. :)

The attack speed is not in the ability, it can be found in the behavior. Look for the Attack Speed Multiplier - field.
