I have a neutral unit, setup as a shop. It has an effect instant ability, with a Search Area effect with Apply behavior in the search area effect.
I need the search filters to work for the player who activates the ability and his/her allies. However, since the neutral unit is neutral, the search filters don't work, because the neutral unit is not allied with anyone and it is not the "player".
Is there a work around?
Just a quick edit: The neutral units abilities are being accessed by the interact ability.
The problem is the you are using an Effect - Instant which uses the neutral player as the caster. Unless you use an ability that targets the activating unit there is no way the game can tell them apart from any other player unit.

The system used in the ownership changer demo map might be what you need.
