I've returned to creating my campaign after a while. I've patched my version of game and then noticed that on 2 of my maps (1 of them is for a long time available on Mapster) there's a bug now.
The bug is funny. I created a "background" on this 2 maps - on the level -1 of terrain is taking place a battle between computer.
What fuc*ed up - well, the range units are now sending their missiles to the level 0! (up), not to the enemy unit at -1! I'll show you on the screenshots:
From 1st map - cannons (not quite good screenshot):
From 8th map - stalker and caracan:
Is there any way to fix it? I'm personally little upset that the Blizzard a little ruined my concept of maps with the battle background at -1 lvl of terrain. :/
So I'm waiting for any solution. :) I supossed that it should be something with data or terrain.
I can also add, that this problem was earlier only with the Colossus lance. The colossi always were searching their target on the level 0. That why I have not put them in my battle background. Now it's a problem of more range unit - caracans, stalkers etc (but not for any unit - e.g. sentries are attacking correct).
To the Action type actor used by either the Launch Missile or Damage effects of the weapons/abilities. The SOp (Shadow) type of site operation automatically adjusts the height of the actor relative to the terrain and can offset the height above or below.

I'm afraid I've test your advice and it's not working at the moment. :( There's a possibility that I'm something doing wrong because, as I've mentioned, I'm noob in data editor. I was experimenting with the SOp (Shadow) in the actors (Caracan - Attack - missile, and Caracan - attack; and also Stalker - Attack - missile, and Stalker - missile), adding them, replacing the other SOp's etc. In one moment only change was, that the impact place was also at the level 0. :D But always it was hiting the air above (at the 0 level not -1).
So using SOp (Shadow) on both launch/impact sites of the Action type actor and the Missile type actor does nothing?
There is the Location cliff level validator, you could attach your visuals to a stick actor like a marine that alters the scale downwards. This only works if the negative visuals are done via cliffs.
Also the Higher of Terrain and Water SOp might be key.

Well, I was trying with SOp Shadow in different configurations in action actor of missile/attack, and also with the Higher of Terrain and Water SOp - unfortunately it doesn't work. :/
What about this Location cliff level validator? I've found it but didn't understand what I should do with him.
Thanks for your advice, anyway. :)
Ps. I'm a little anger because it's the last thing that isn't working in the last, 8th map of my campaign. :) Want finally to publish it.
It is a validator that copares cliff level heights relative to another point/unit. If the negative height is not caused by cliffs it is not useful to you.

Hello everyone.
I've returned to creating my campaign after a while. I've patched my version of game and then noticed that on 2 of my maps (1 of them is for a long time available on Mapster) there's a bug now.

Thanks, Nimbus.

I imagine any solution to your problem would likely be data-related. You'd probably have better luck asking in the Data forum.
That said, I wouldn't be overly surprised if Blizzard screwed -1 level fighting even more than it already was, with no easy user workaround.
Like Telthalion said, you're going to need a solution that's pretty much completely data based here. I've moved your thread for you.
Thank you. :)
So I'm waiting for any solution. :) I supossed that it should be something with data or terrain.
I can also add, that this problem was earlier only with the Colossus lance. The colossi always were searching their target on the level 0. That why I have not put them in my battle background. Thanks.
I assume adding a SOp (Shadow) to the launch and impact site ops of the Action actor dont help?

I'm "yellow" in data editor. You mean to add SOp (Shadow) to which Action? :)
To the Action type actor used by either the Launch Missile or Damage effects of the weapons/abilities. The SOp (Shadow) type of site operation automatically adjusts the height of the actor relative to the terrain and can offset the height above or below.
