Like when a unit engages a unit you may use Abil.attack.ReadyStart like the spidermine uses to make its scream before exploding. I want to make my units scream when they flee.
How are you making them flee? if it is by the flee/aquire method maybe try the Status Set actor event?

The automatic flee effect, when a unit runs away because it cannot acquire the target shooting at it. How would status set work?

you might beable to make a damage response behavior that does something when the unit flees....
