First, I must say I've done researchs... and found nothing.
So. I'm creating a funny-useless map, with an inventory. That works perfectly. 16-slots bag, equipped inventory, etc.
The problem come from this equipped inventory. It is supposed to have 4 different item type : 1 weapon, 1 armor, 1 crystal (a sort of relic) and 4 artefacts.
Buuuuut we can't distinguish the slots because they are all the same empty icon.
I tried to put a button into the Empty slot, and... nothing changed. Do I missed someting ?
The top one is the "equipped" inventory, and the other is the 16-slots bag.
The problem is that we can't distinguish the slots of the first one, what is problematic because of different items.
The four right slots are for trinkets, the top left is for armor ; right under is a weapon and the bottom left is for a relic.
I've got icons and everything, now the question is : how to show icon when there is no items on this slot ?
You could do it like the Footmen map, though I don't know exactly how they did it. Basically they placed buttons next to the item slots reading "weapon" or "armor", and made visibly seperate "blocks" of slots if you can carry more than 1 item type.
As I said I don't know how they did it, probably either by adding buttons (if that's possible) or by placing undroppable items in these "indicator" slots.

The empty face is for container containing slots only.
Try seperating them spacially so it is easier to remember

Containers containing slots only. Okay.
... Err... could you precise ?
You might not be able to highlight what each slot is when empty but you could put them spacially so the game info can easily describe them.

Oh, okay. So... I think I have to find another way to show that. Thanks anyway.
Please explain.

Okay. I made 2 inventories :
The top one is the "equipped" inventory, and the other is the 16-slots bag. The problem is that we can't distinguish the slots of the first one, what is problematic because of different items. Bump !
