Hello, Can someone tell me why the face is not appearing on the ability item? It's a Build Ability.

You set a Button for the ability?

You set a button on the item itself, in the item tab.
I have them. Both on the item and ability. Though it appears the real problem is that the item doesn't know which building to pick to build.
You have to use an effect-target ability to build your unit. Yes, this creates problems with build animations.
This would mean I cannot have a build times or such costs for the ability?

You can have build times and costs and all, but it would take a lot of extra work comparatively and be a bit work-aroundy.
Ability items are not compatible with all ability types.
