Yeah, I even scaled it with all types of damage but still didn't work, maybe it's how my missile is set up that it is independent of the unit? idk i think i may opt for a different method

1) Made missile effect ability/spell
2) Made buff to increase the unscaled damage of the unit using the spell
Problem) Damage buff not increasing the missiles damage, damage remains as the default damage effect
What am I doing wrong?
All my other buffs are working with my unit but when it comes to the damage of the missile it doesn't apply.
Missiles launched before the buff is placed won't take into account the buff's damage modifiers. Could that be the issue?
No, the buff is already on the unit before the unit fires the missile.
Can you send us the map file?
What damage type is the Damage effect of the missile doing? Is your modifier also scaling that damage type?
