Hey guys, I'm new to the forums and I have a question about data ( obviously ). Well I created a custom ability for a unit, its a direct target damage spell
but I have a little problem with actually using it, I click it.. it says "please select target" but if I hover the reticle over an enemy, nothing happens, it doesn't highlight the enemy so I can't cast the ability. Thanks for your help in advance.
If nothing happens, then your ability might not have been assigned an effect, otherwise you might be using the transient flag (buggy with target abilities)
If there is an error, then either your validators are wrong or your target filters are.
The ability has a an effect, just the targeting doesn't want to work, care to tell me what specific filter I need to target enemy ground units with the ability?
The problem might be that you have your ability set to target a target and your effect is set to target a point? What type of effect is your damage? If it is, in fact a damage effect type, make sure your Target: Impact Location is set to target unit. Also, as zolstice mentioned, be sure your target filters of the ability are set right. You can find those in the Ability : Target Filters field of your ability. Without you posting what you have its hard to help.

Nothing happens? Or is there an error?
