The way the Automated Refinery does it is that the text actor is created as an attachment to a Mover actor which is then ordered to head up while a timer determines when it starts to fade using a Set Opacity action. A second timer then tells it to be destroyed.
I would check the events if I was you.

I made it so a +1 Appears above my building when It makes money
The problem is when I build my building a +1 appears and stays there whilst the other ones go over it!
How would I make it so it appears go's up and disappear?!
