Hey everyone, if you saw on the front-page my map "Death Haven", you'll know it works on the basis of your hero getting a certain amount of kills that give you a rank (just like default sc2 units do, except I changed the wording and the number of ranks).
If you go into Game UI Data in the data editor (something like that) you can find the default kill ranks+ field and set your own. Or you can override it in a unit's actor with the same field. I did this with the following setup:
It seemed to enter all correctly (and work correctly up to Lieutenant), but today when I reached 500 kills, it didn't say captain... it said commander on my unit. Is this a Blizzard bug or a limitation? Even upon reloading, when my unit gets 500 kills he gets the writing "Commander" on the bottom panel.
I just tried something on an old map, 10 ranks total, every 10 kills would change the rank. The ranks progressed properly to the very end without a hitch, multiple times.
Nope, just made a map real quick, with text commands to spawn zerglings, I had a ghost with infinite nukes and I got up to 20k kills no problems, no rank problems or nothing. Though I would kill 30, then 70, then 400, then 1500, then 2000 zerglings at a time up till 20k kills. No problems.
I really don't know at this point. The only place that controls your kill ranks is in the actor field as well as the game UI data field right? I entered all 8 rows, and I can't see any other setting that could affect this. FYI I just tested again with a command that added kills... still fails after lieutenant. Infact it goes Private->Sergeant->Lieutenant->Commander->Captain->Sergeant (again)... Completely off after Lieutenant lol.. I'm even attaching an image of one of my units's actors with the field open.
Is there some hidden field that's messing it up? What could the conflict be?

Anyone else experienced this?

Perhaps it has to do with the amount of kills?

Maybe it only keeps track of up to 500 kills? I mean, that IS a lot of kills.

Maybe you have some coding conflicting? That seems like one of the only possible solutions.

Perhaps its just one of those weird dumb bugs.
Maybe clear the entire Unit Kill Rank + field and re-input all the ranks?
@BorgDragon: Go
I already cleared it from Game UI Data and put it in each actor manually and it did nothing lol. So strange.
im having a weird bug, to go from rank 1 to rank 2 reqs min 100 kills, my unit passes 100 kills doesnt get anything
Could it be some error inside your bank triggers?
O !@#$, bumping a dead thread.
