I want to have a beam from the target of the behavior to the caster - The beam should last from when the behavior is created, till it ends. If either the caster, or the target dies, the beam should be removed - how would I do that?

Read the wiki, for the most part you should be able to copy MedivacHealBeamRev1 and replace the creation and destruction events with Behavior.On/Off.

Well, I do not get much from the Wiki to be honest.
I tried using the MedivacHealBeamRev1 actor, and change the events to
but it does not work, it gives me an error;
I tried setting the effect in the fields where it mentions caster and target, to the effect that applies the behavior.
You are not setting the impact subject effect field.

That wiki link is for the Beam data type. You want the Beam (Simple) Actor class.
Try using the Apply Behavior effect as the creation trigger, or if that fails add a dummy effect to the Effect-Initial of the buff.
