So I followed a tutorial on making my own upgrade. I completed all the steps including:
duplicating an upgrade
setting the max upgrade count to 255
eliminated requirement nodes, (Button is available)
modified the effects for each time the upgrade is applied (i.e. add 1, multiple 2 for time and resource cost each time its upgraded)
added the buttons to the unit
I have the ability on the unit and you can hit the button over and over and its not upgrading. It's as if the effects that I put on the custom upgrade are not going into effect at all. The resources do not double as they should and the damage or armor output does not increase as it should. The button is there just fine.
I don't know what I am missing, there appears to be a missing link somewhere.
It's a bit like saying I've hidden a needle in a haystack, and I don't know where i put it, or anything else. Maybe some more detail would help us out more, or even better the map or a copy of the map with everything else removed.
I wanted you all to know that I solved the problem. After I reduced the number of upgrades from 255 to 100 it seems to work fine now. Weird though, I'm not sure why that would have affected it so much. (Solved)

Any ideas?

Still alive and kicking, just busy.
My guide to the trigger editor (still a work in progress)
