I'm trying to make an ability where the caster and all allied units around him teleport to a target spot. I've tried to create a persistent effect at the target point that creates a search effect around the caster that searches for allied units and uses a teleport effect that targets the persistent effect target point. Whenever i use the effect nothing happens.
I seriously have no idea, but I think that modifying or looking at the mass recal ability might help... You could also make an behavior around the unit that gives the other units the same ability and make sure that you have that thing checked that makes it a group ability (all the units use it at once instead of one at a time, example: blink). I'd probably stick with the former though.
It is simple. Get the Effect - Target ability to apply a Set effect to the target location. The set then uses a Search Area effect that is based on the caster (Target - Impact Location - Value) location that applies the Teleport effect to the targets. The teleport effect then uses the Target - Target - Effect field to use the Set effect from earlier as a source of reference for the target.
I've made it so that the effect of the Effect - Target ability is the set ability that uses the Search Area effect which has under the Target - Impact Location - Value caster unit and the search effect applies the teleport effect which has target unit/point under Target - Target - Value and the set effect under Target - Target - Effect.
When i use the ability 2 things happen. If i target a point on the ground nothing happens. If I target a unit however it sometimes teleports the unit away from the caster.
I've checked all the fields and tried multiple combinations of point and unit/point and nothing seems to work. The most that happens is that sometimes if i select a unit it will teleport away from the caster but other than that nothing happens.
I tried switching the teleport effect with a suicide effect under the search area effect and the only unit that died was the ability caster. I think the problem is that the search effect isn't working properly.
I think i might be looking at the problem wrong or trying the wrong thing, anyone got a suggestion?
The search does have an arc of 360 and a radius of 10. I changed the maximum count to 10 and removed all the filters.
What is happening now is that if I target a random point nothing happens however if I target a unit that is standing practically inside the caster the unit teleports away, the teleport I think is being caused by the placement range I put.
Somehow I think the search effect is being skipped, which is causing the teleport effect to malfunction. The teleport effect works though when I target a unit which is why I think the set effect is somehow just linking straight to the teleport. Anyone got any ideas why that would happen?
Hey the teleport for the caster is still working but it still seems to be skipping the search or the search isn't applying the teleport.

Sounds like your teleport cannot target unit/point.
Sounds like you have mixed a field up there.

Have you set the search up to have an arc of 360 and a radius? What is the cap on the number of search targets? Make sure Self is not set to required.

I think the problem is maybe the Target - Target - Effect valus however i've played around with the fields with no success.
Under the impact location for your search use caster and have no effect there.
Remove the search from the Unit - Unit - Effect field of your teleport.
