Trying to do what I thought would be a simple change, and it either really is, or no one else has tried it. I'm inclined to think the prior. Anyway, I'm trying to make it so you can, in game, place a Nexus right next to any resource you please. I'm confused. xD
I do have experience with the data editor, but I just can't find a variable that would make sense. I thought about the footprint, but that's what makes the neato 5x5 green grid.
I thought it was the unbuildiable pathing that did that, I may be wrong. In your terrain view press "H" and just select the unbuildable pathing brush. you can paint on and off as you wish
I was hoping that would be the solution, and I do see the 'Near Resources' that you're referring to, but it isn't checked anyway. The mover is 'Ground'.
ok its the same thing, its pathable terrain but its set by the footprint of the mineral field. the footprint is named "Footprint Mineral Fields Rounded", if you open that up and you can see the placement apply and placement check fields have unbuildable terrain set
That would cause the same issue I mentioned last time. x_x
Doing that would disable it for ALL buildings. I don't want that. Command Centers and Hatcheries should still be unable to build nearby.
If you are wanting some buildings being able to be built next to them but not CC's etc. I say good luck with that it is not doable with data alone, you will have to do a placement check with triggers, and I'm not sure if its workable in triggers either
Well that's ironic.
Um.. I don't mean any offense at all; this really just happened coincidentally after you replied. (Though I did mumble 'bullshit' when I read your reply initially x3)
I changed its placement footprint to (doodad) and that fixed it.
Sorry!
Anyway, this is solved.
Solved!!!

Doesn't look like it. Besides, I want Command Centers to still receive the error ;;
Look at the nexus mover. It should have something like Placement + (Near Ressources) checked. Uncheck that.

I am now more confused than when I began.

there is something in nexus unit that says cant build near resources and just un-check that and it should fix it just look into the nexus unit.
