-Hello all. I have been working on a simple ability were a Firebat chooses the unit to use it on and a large flame wave kills and causes splash. The damage and effects work well and the Firebat's animation to attack works perfectly. My problem however is that I now want the flames to be shooting out of the Firebat. I created an actor that creates the flame but it does not stop. When I put a destroy actor on it in conjunction with the actor creation it cuts out and the flame is never seen. I have already tried many variations of Ability start / Ability end.
_-Question-_
-I am obviously doing it wrong but after 2 hours I have hit a wall of confusion. If anyone else has encountered something like this, or knows the solution it would help me a great deal. It would also be nice to get a reminder how to use attachment points when creating actors so it attaches on the Firebat's weapon instead of the Origin.
Use the effect instead of the ability for destruction. You need to use a SOp (Attachment) that attaches to the weapon and not the origin in the Hosting - Host Site Operations - Operations field.

Thanks Dr. I will post solved when I finish the ability.
Edit: im sure I would eventually get it to work with this info but then something bugged when i tested it. I just lost about 40 hours work on an epic character selection system (even with name selection) and all the abilities I was working on. So im going to ragequit for now and possibly get back to it later.
I had the map on an external thumb drive so i could work on it on multiple computers, apparently the thumb drive had other plans...
I do not know how your ability is set up but maybe use a missile that looks like a wave or if you are using a persistent have it like the colossus beam impact site where the model is attached to a mover that follows the persistent.
