Yep same problem here, I think it should work as said above, but it does not, and that's very bad, because you could save a LOT of texture space by just increasing the frequency, maybe it is implemented in hots
Was playing around with importing tilesets from WoW today.
Figured someone here might find this useful for some terraining project or other.
For the life of me I can't figure out how to change the scaling of the enormous textures, Tiling Frequency doesn't seem to do anything. Cookies to anyone who has any suggestions.
It's different for each tileset actually, you usually want to multiply both by the same number to avoid ugly results.
Only other really interesting thing I know about in the console was "browse" to open an asset browser for files of all types (not just the type of the file you need for the object field you're editing, as usual)
I'm curious as to exactly what this is.
How often the texture repeats itself by unit of distance, it's the texture's scale.
That's what I thought it did, BUT it doesn't have any affect at all in the editor or in-game.
I think it's bugged.
I had the same experience, ended up resizing/editing DDS files to change textures' scale.

Sadly this is the perfect workaround the 256x256 limit without increasing map size
:(
You can help me with the bug report here

You tried saving the map, closing it and reopening it? Also make sure you map is using the modified tile set.

Had no affect. Perhaps this only works with certain texture sets? I'm using Agria (Jungle). The Dirt texture doesn't change.
try making a new one?

Have you ever seen this function work on your maps and can you upload a test map showing that you can make it work, I've tried everything.
@EdwardSolomon: Go Here's a quote from Telthalion in a similar thread.

Please only post an answer/solution if you have actually managed to get this feature to work (and upload a map).
Hmm you are right. I only ever tried altering the tiling frequiency of creep so assumed it was also functional with terrain.

Can you help me by bumping the bug report, this is the perfect solution to circumventing the 256x56 map limit.
Explain how you did this, because I resulted with stretched out/bad quality textures.
NECRO!
Thing is I have a solution :)
Use the console command texuvset X Y
Just enter that into the console. 24 x 24 is default, I think.
@Nebuli2: Go
Whoa whoa whoa! This is awesome! Where did you obtain this knowledge and what other secrets does console hold? Btw, I think 9 is the default =D

This is pretty awsome. For other console commands you can type ''help''.
