is it possible to have an offset actually start from the caster because i have a persistent with offsets and if you click near the caster the offsets well behind him if they are positive. how do i make it show up next to him no matter what so the caster will face some where and the offset well always be in front of him
Well, one way you can do it is to make the offsets negative. Because if they're behind the caster when positive, you can just change the sign.
But perhaps you're curious and just want to know what determines the facing of a persistent? That'd be the Target - Location Offset - Start - Value and Target - Location Offset - End - Value fields. Not so obviously, the positive Y direction will be from end to start.
I think, however, in the case that there's an error or something with that, the Target - Offset Facing Fallback - Value field is used instead.
well yes its positive and in front of him when the player clicks about 6 range away from caster(how far my persistent goes) but if he clicks on the caster its 6 behind him
well its a arrow basically like in the images and it moves forward by another persistent but if you click near the caster it emits behind and moves forward and if you click way its works properly i just want it to go forward not to the target point and ive tried changing the offset
nevermind fixed it its not in offset its location outer but now i gotta fix my offsets cause the point is now behind the guy but that is an easy fix lol i relized what to do in my last post when i said not target point

bump?
I'm not quite sure what you're asking... -Y values are in front of the caster, positive are behind... thats just how its designed for some reason.
well i have the offset so it in front but i can post images if you want me to show what i mean
can you see the problem
bump
@aczchef: Go
You mean you want your "once cast" persistent to follow your caster...?
have you tried changing
Target - Location + from Target Point to Caster Unit?
I believe this controls where the entire effect occurs... if its at Point, it's stationary.
Your Offsets reference this central point.

Um... ya, I said Location > Target Point needs to be changed in my post... and THEN you realize on your own? lol
oh well changing it to caster i think wouldn't have worked lol i saw target and caster imm like ugh i already tried that well sorry thx everyone
