Lets make abilities with the "Arm Magazine" ability, currently the only three in the game are, carrier - interceptors, brood lord - broodlings and ghost academy - nuke. What we are going to do is come up with some new and interesting ideas for this ability, even if that means just using the hanger idea, and transferring to new units.
Ideas/Challenges
Lets give marauders a magazine count for their fire, where once they have fired of 5 shots, they spend a bit of downtime reloading before being able to fire again.
Recreate the Carrier - interceptor ability, but in the other two races Terran and Zerg
Harder:
This one may be a bit tricky but see how you can implement it, a siege tank, that is now able to shoot whilst moving, that can load units in tank mode, but when switched to siege mode, it uses the Marines that are loaded in as cargo as ground defense around the sieged tank, when switching back to tank mode the marines load back up into cargo again. Dunno how this is to be implented but give it a go!
I'll do the harder challenge because I already discovered something to this effect when screwing around with the editor way back in WDE #4, Aerial Support =D.
Here it is, Challenge accepted, completed, and passed! Took me a while to finish this because of chatting on MSN with my lady friend... the only hard(LOL) part for me was the Issue Order effect.... I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work until I saw the Target+ field... I felt like a big dummy!
Uses 2 Validators, 1 Behavior, 2 Effects, 2 Buttons, 1 Ability, modified Siege Tank, modified weapon.... ya I think that's all.
This Siege Tank can ONLY load marines as its Cargo, aswell, hence 1(extra) Validator.
EDIT: As usual forgot to attach my map, so here it is, lol.
Well, just go at your own pace, and even if you don't make the deadline, the WDE is still technically open, so post it late even. Just have fun doing it and try and learn some new stuff :)

thx borg cause my ability was you used an ability to create scvs to repair the siege tank but i wanted it to work like the carrier but the scvs a immobile i think ill just use attachments and give health Regen lol
I made a Rageling, a giant Zergling that acts like a Carrier. It launches Broodlings that do not die over time. Can have 12 total. Instead of being internal(like Carrier) they are external, but behave the same as interceptors.
Oh YA! I forgot to change that... if you notice when I hover over the weapon tooltip, it says can attack Ground and Air... I'm going to change that for the map upload. Will upload map in a few.

And very nice on the two entries, further challenge for the siege tank, can you get the marines to move a bit away from the tank, as standing that close in siege mode is sure to make you deaf and why not get them to patrol around it :P
yeah that be cool lol like have them go out walk like 1/4 around the tank just have them stop and make them basicly turn randomly to make it look around then have them circle 1/4 and yeah lol

My load/unload tank ability gives a buff to the Tank when it unloads, which happens automatically when it Sieges, because the Siege Tank in Siege Mode has no cargo space. Works perfect. When it goes from Siege Mode to Tank Mode, the validator triggers, removing the buff and running the Final effect, which searches for marines and orders the tank to load them up. Again, works perfect.
What I never tested is that this also gets applied when trying to unload while in Tank mode... it unloads, gets the behavior, behavior validates and destroys itself, but not before it runs the search effect and loads up marines... I cannot unload marines while in tank mode, LOL. :|
If I validate the Unload, well I'm screwed eitherway, lol. I can try and validate that it's a Siege Tank in Siege mode for the units to be unloaded, but it already does that automatically. If I validate that it's a Tank, well same problem... it's a regular tank, unloads units, runs its buff, does the above, auto loads the marines... gaaaah KEYBOARD SMASH!!!

Hmm, this would ACTUALLY be something very useful for Blizzard to add in the Editor in the near future... gonna go make a post in the Bnet forums!
EDIT: Gah!! I figured out the problem... I'm going to have to give the Sieged Tank cargo space... This will allow me to validate both Unload behaviors if and only if the Tank is in Siege Mode... i'll rework it so that it will order the unload automatically while in siege, and that should hopefully fix this stupid ass issue... eitherway it would be nice to have a Validator for each Load/Unload Cargo/Transport Behavior field.
EDIT 2: Gah that fixed nothing! KEYBOARD DOUBLE SMASH!!!
This gives me a reason to work on an ability for a hero, although I've been working on a different hero recently I can always go to this one, I shouldn't spend so much time on one hero anyways.
Even when the tank is currently stopped it won't unload. I'm just gonna leave it for the time being and get back on that in a day. Or two... or three LOL.

Couldn't you use a combine validator that makes sure the tank is stopped to unload the marines?

You could always put a validator on the search effect that applies the issue orders.
