I recently added the Campaign dependency to my map so I could access more models. This has had subtle effects on the way that certain units behave, such as the Creep Tumor not having the Buried and Cloaked Flags set. Someone else has told me that the Punisher Grenades are giving an area effect instead of just affecting the target. I can't seem to figure out how to fix this...the editor indicates a Target Unit effect on that weapon but I'm probably looking in the wrong place...?
Here is what I did to find it:
1) Go to Data -> Units -> Marauder.
2) Look in bottom left section -> Weapons -> Marauder - Punisher Grenades -> right-click -> View Linked Weapon.
(Now you should be at Data -> Weapons -> Marauder - Punisher Grenades.)
3) Look in bottom left section -> Effects -> Marauder - Slow AOE -> right-click -> View Linked Effect.
(Now you should be at Data -> Effects -> Marauder - Slow AOE.)
4) I do not know how to remove this effect, but until someone gives you a better answer, you could at least set the AOE radius to 0: Go to Search tab -> Radius -> set to 0.
Why don't you just remove the whole Marauder - Slow AOE all together?
Go to Effect, just delete Marauder - Slow AOE?
If you want to save it for later, go to Effect > Marauder - Punisher Grenades (Set), under Effects you will spot Marauder - Slow AOE as part of the Set Effect, just remove it from the Set.
For the campaign dependencies, there are multiple ones. If you add just the Campaign dependencies, you will get access to all the new units, models, doodads etc. However, if you additionally add the Story dependency, it will alter your existing units, like giving the Marauder their AoE slow or making Siege Tanks quite overpowered.
Similar for the melee dependencies, Liberty adds all the basic multiplayer units and stuff, while Liberty Multi includes all balance changes from patches and will include future balance changes as well.
So in short, for most custom maps only use Liberty and Campaign and skip Multi as well as Story.
I'm not using Story but I am using Multi because I need that. I've had Multi as a dependency for a long time. It was when I added simply "Campaign" when it changed Creep Tumors and this Marauder effect. So when you say it's the Story dependency that is changing things, that's not the case. That may indeed change other things, but that's not part of my scenario.

Aha! Thanks for identifying this. I'd prefer setting Chance to 0 (instead of Radius to 0)...any reason why that wouldn't work?

Oh okay that's a good idea too...thx.
Anyone know of any other subtle unit behavior differences when adding the Campaign dependency?

Second that.
