Hey, I started making a map for the first time last week, and none of my general go-to helpers are online. How does one make it so that you can train, say, 10 marines from one transaction?
What I mean is...You click the marine button on a barracks. You wait however long. You get 10 marines coming out of the barracks. Also, I want it to cost 50 minerals per marine.
Easy. Marines already cost 50 minerals so that's all done.
Next, find and select the Barracks - Train ability in the Abilities Tab, double click on Ability:Info+ field, double click on the Train 01, Train Marine, Marine entry, scroll down, you will see a box called Info - Unit with Marine already in there, click on the green X next to the box, and change that entry to Marine, do that 8 more times until you have 10x Marine in the Info - Unit box.
You will now need 500 minerals to even train marines, and you will get 10 every time.
BONUS TIP Just... cause. I don't know if many people know this, but I've done it with Zerglings. Originally there was an upgrade that allowed Zerg to get 4 Zerglings from 1 Larva and I went about and figured out how to do it and recreated it a while back.
If you leave those 9 extra entries blank, you can create an upgrade that SETS the empty entries to Marine(or any other unit). So at the start, it will cost 50 minerals to train 1 marine, but if you upgrade(and only add 1 extra marine at a time per upgrade) you will receive 1 extra marine and the cost will increase by +50 minerals every time you upgrade and set a blank entry to a marine.
Sorry about this being a bit late, but Im having a problem where I add multiple units to an ability to be trained (e.g. Marine, Marine, Marine), however, it will reset to just one unit or change to a Marine and some other unit, or add too many other Marines to the list.
Any ideas how to fix this? Ive tried using just like the stock Barracks - Train Ability and Ive even made my own but it still bugs out...
I did exactly what you said in Post #2. I had tried this before reading your post and it did this. I thought I messed something up then searched the forums and came across this and redid everything exactly as your post said. Still bugs out sadly...
Here. Let me post a map for you. I just tested it out, thinking maybe it was because there was too many units for the train button. But no...
It works perfectly without problems of any sort. 500 minerals cost, 10 supply cost, 25 seconds to train 10 marines.
I did exactly what I stated in the second post, the first part only, then placed a barracks and 8 depots on the map, and gave the player 10,000 minerals.
I set it so it builds 10 reapers (For the Reaper train; the marine train wasn't changed), 1 mineral each (just cause its easier), 1 sec build time. Fails...
Instead it builds 1 Marine and 9 Reapers for the Marine Build Order. For the Reapers it just builds 1.
I tried changing the name on my file to see if that was it and no.
My editor version is 1.4.3 (21029) if that has anything to do with it...
You are doing something TERRIBLY wrong. I re-upload the map now, 10 marines/10reapers/10ghosts/10marauders. It all works properly.
Re-reading your post again just before I post, seems like you accidentally changed the last 9 marines to Reapers. You might have thought you editing the Reapers, but didn't? Double check? Or download my V2 of the map?
EDIT:: Ok, So, I went back and made an addition to the above, I made a build button on the Barracks that trains 1 of each of the following:: Marine, Marauder, Reaper, Ghost, Hellion, Thor, Siege Tank(Tank Mode), Viking(Ground), Viking(Air), Medivac, Banshee, Battlecruiser, Baneling(for shnits and giggles).

3x zerglings per larvae are back in HOTS.

Grazie, it looks like I was doing it right all along, I just could copy-paste.

I cannot give you an answer without seeing how you set it up. When I did it, I had it working flawlessly without error over several tests.

I tried your map, works fine with the marines.

So Im not sure if its just me or what D:!

I literally did everything just fine, but it bugs out... I dont know why ... fresh map, current maps, old maps, whatever it messes up @_@...
Ill try your map v2 later tonight... I think its my installation of SC2Editor...

Just update SC2 to the latest version... the rest will be taken care of.
