I have created a custom spell for the High Templar. I want the missile to be launched from the hands of him. Right now the missile is launched from his feet and it travels on the ground. I want it to fly in the height of his hands.
Any idea how to solve this?
Missiles are always so hard to fix. I never understand it : /
Assuming you added the proper Action actor, there may be a possibility you gave the missile a SOp Shadow actor in the Site Operations field which could cause it to lock to a certain height.
I upload my MOD-file, in case any friendly soul would mind to take a look. The ability is currently called "Stasis Field" on the High Templar. I reduced the casting cost to 0 and it requires no upgrade. I will fix the visuals and the name once I get it to work properly.
Do I have to change the launch attachment point to get the missile be fired from the HT hands? (I have tried a lot of different attachment points at the Action actor. The missile is always shot from the ground)
Do I have to modify the missile mover?
Do I have to add a SOpHeight-thing with a height value to the missile actor?
I´ve tried a bunch of different things, but the missile still flies on the ground
Normally with an action actor, you'll get a duplicate name under the Art Tab, with the beam reading as Custom: "NameofBeam." What you'll want to do is change the beam's name to what it was under the actor you duplicated it from. You may also want to change the Actor Missile to the original one of what you are using.
YES! I finally managed to solve it after a lot of hours! I had to rebuild the missile, the mover, and the action actor. (All of them contained problems.)
I post a picture on the Action actor, since it determines the "point" on the unit the missile is launched from.
Make sure you have a correct missile unit, mover, and missile actor. If they are ok, then the Action actor is the problem.
Maybe will this be useful in case someone in the future encounters a similar problem..
Ok, that is same question replicate 12 solved. You can also use custom Site type actors to launch missiles from attached actors. Just specify the Site type actor under the Action actor and have the site actor hosted on the model/attachment point you want.

Just check your action actor first.

I did not duplicate the Action actor.
Can someone please take a look at the MOD-file above, and give me some advices on how to solve this problem?
